Frequently Asked Questions
Open AllClose All
- Who runs the Program, Enovity or CPAU?
- Enovity is contracted by CPAU to run the Program on their behalf. Enovity provides the technical resources and implementation assistance to customers at no cost.
- How much is the incentive?
- The incentive is calculated based on installed and verified energy savings at the rate of $0.10 per kWh and $1.00 per therm saved over one year. See the Incentives page for more information.
- How long does the Program run?
- The Program runs from May 18, 2009, until December 31, 2011, or until Program funds are depleted. This Program may be modified or terminated without notice.
- How do I know if my facility is a good candidate?
- The Program focuses on facilities that are 30,000 square feet or larger and/or have a maximum electric demand of 50 kW or more.
- How does Enovity get paid?
- Enovity is paid by CPAU for installed energy savings.
- Who implements the project?
- Projects can be implemented by any contractor of your choice. Enovity can provide turn-key implementation services for an additional fee. This can streamline the implementation and verification process.
- We already have a project identified. Can we still participate?
- Absolutely. The Program will need to perform a Detailed Investigation and issue a Project Installation Agreement before any equipment can be ordered.
- If no projects are installed, are there any obligations?
- There are no obligations. Customers do not have to pay the Program back for any services in the event that no projects are installed.
- What is the difference between this and an energy audit?
- Energy audits provide initial identification and assessment of potential energy efficiency projects at a facility. This Program combines that initial assessment with a detailed investigation of the opportunities, implementation support, and post-installation measurement and verification of the project. The Program can assist you through the entire process, offering technical and management support to overcome the typical hurdles of getting projects developed, approved, and installed. If your facility has already had an energy audit, the Program can use that as a starting point to further develop the potential projects and even identify additional opportunities as part of the Detailed Investigation.
- How long does this all take?
- At a minimum, allow 4 to 8 weeks after the first site visit for the Program to perform an evaluation, depending on the size and complexity of the project. However, projects may be evaluated on an accelerated schedule based on project requirements and Enovity resource availability. Once the project is installed and operational, allow at least 4 to 6 weeks for the Program to complete its post-installation inspection and verification report. Once this report is issued, the incentive check usually follows within 45 days.
